The Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette has to be one of the most hyped about products of 2016 so far. I have seen so many people rave about it but I never tend to buy hyped products straight away. I tend to wait a few months and if I still want it I will get it. I finally decided it was time to pick this palette up, especially with it only being £10 it didn’t break the bank. Apart from the pretty packaging, is it really worth all the hype it is getting?
There is no doubt this palette is stunning to look at. The rose gold packaging is every bloggers dream, rose gold definitely makes products look more expensive than they actually are. The palette includes 3 powder shades and 1 cream. Personally I don’t like cream highlighters, I prefer powder so I won’t be using the cream shade at all. The powder shades are interesting as they include a yellow toned gold, a peach toned gold and a lilac. When I first opened the palette I honestly thought I would only get use out of the light yellow toned gold shade as the peach tone one looked dark and it isn’t often you see a lilac highlight!
Look how pretty those shades are! I was quite surprised when I swatched them that they all looked lovely. The cream shade is a champagne colour which if you like cream highlight you will LOVE this! The 3 powder shades weren’t as dark as they looked in the pan which I was super happy about.
Im quite pale and find some highlighters are too dark for my skin tone. Surprisingly all three of these powder shades suit me really well. The light yellow toned gold is paler than The Balm Mary Lou Highlighter as it is a paler yellow tone with a more icy finish. The peach tone really impressed me as it is my favourite shade to wear out of all of them. It doesn’t show up dark at all! Lastly the lilac shade I was scared to use but it is extremely pretty. With a certain makeup look it works beautifully.
All shades are strong in pigmentation. For a drugstore highlighter I am shocked and left speechless. I find I reach for this palette much more than my other highlighters. You can apply them lightly or build it up. Overall the hype is real and 100% worth it. To me this is a total bargain at just £10. You can buy it from the Sleek Website direct or from other online stores such as Superdrug, Feel Unique and Boots.
GO GET IT GIRLS!
