Summer is here which means time to switch up that base and add a little more sparkle. For me Summer makeup is all about having that flawless looking base without being heavy and adding a pop of colour. In the Summer my oily skin tends to be worse but recently since switching up my skincare routine (READ IT HERE) i have found it is less oily which makes it easier wearing certain products.
Having the perfect base is key to any makeup look. I always use mattifying primers and lately i have been loving the Bourjois Happy Light Matte Primer. It is as it says lightweight but feels super moisturising for my skin without making me extra oily. It sets in well and preps my skin perfectly. I then move onto my new favourite Summer foundation and that is the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in the shade Santa Fe. I won a voucher for Nars and picked this foundation as i had heard amazing things. It gives medium to full coverage but still feels very light on my skin.
Concealers are something i have love/hate relationships with. I often suffer with dark under eye circles but lately they don’t seem to be as bad. For the days my under eye circles are behaving and playing ball i love to use the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. I tend to use this more as a highlighter and slightly under my eyes. It is super creamy and blends like a dream! Powder is a must for me and right now the NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat is right up my street. It is a dupe for the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, gives a lovely flawless finish and keeps my makeup lasting all day.
I am quite pale, dark brown hair and blush eyes so i love pink blushes. The Body Shop Baked To Last Blush is perfect. It has a slight shimmer but gives a gorgeous pink tone to my cheeks which i love. Also i am loving The Body Shop Baked Bronzer which i use more as a highlighter and can see myself using this alot this Summer.
