I have had my eye on the LA Girl Strobe Powder Highlighters ever since they were released. I was about’s to purchase it when I luckily had the chance to pick it along with some other products as a PR Collaboration. That being said I love this product so much I recently bought one for Dena Jayne for her birthday a few weeks ago. A budget highlighter that kicks some ass, what more could you want?!
The LA Girl Strobe Powder comes in a whopping 12 shades! Usually most brands offer around 4-6 highlighter shades not 12. The shade I have is 110 Watt, the shades are perfect for so many skin tones including fair, medium, tan, dark and deep skin tones so they really do suit everyone. This has really impressed me as many cheaper drugstore brands lack on shades and don’t cater to all skin tones especially darker or fair tones.
I have the shade 110 Watt which is described as a Champagne Tone perfect for fair skin. With being so pale I find some champagne highlighters can show up too gold toned on my skin but this is the perfect shade for us pale girls. I am also tempted by the 120 Watt which is a Pearlescent Silver Toned Highlighter good for very fair skin tones. The powder itself is very finely milled and has the perfect amount of glow/shimmer. It doesn’t have big chunks of glitter, just how I like it.
If I want a subtle natural glow I apply one layer lightly with my Real Techniques Setting Brush or for those days I want to be seen from the moon I apply two layers which creates a lovely intense highlight. It wears well throughout the day keeping it’s pigmentation and keeps me glowing all day!
The LA Girl Strobe Lite Powder retails for £7.99 which is a complete bargain especially when the pan is huge! I am definitely going to pick up the 120 Watt asap!
