Winter makeup has to be my favourite. I love all the warmer darker tones but also with a pop of colour. It was so easy for me to pick out my favourite Winter picks. I’ve got you covered from base to eyes to a poppin highlight. I do enjoy Summer makeup but Winter takes it for me, I feel I can be more creative.
All About That Base…
Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation | £29.50 | Link
I always recommend this foundation it is one of my go to bases. It is fuller coverage and leaves your skin looking flawless. I have oily-combination skin and this works well for both. It keeps me shine free for the longest time, it doesn’t break up or look cakey. The shade range is huge!
Lottie London Selfie Ready Foundation | £6.95 | Link
This foundation is probably my favourite find this year. I am on my third bottle and also just purchased two more as backups! Now for someone that owns over 30 foundations, this shows just how much I am obsessed with this one. It just looks flawless and I can find my perfect shade in this. It is a medium coverage. They have expanded the shade range so there are now 10 shades available online.
Vichy Covermatte Powder Foundation | £20.00 | Link
This is one gorgeous powder. You can use it as a powder on top of a foundation or use it as a foundation. I use it both ways and I find it really gives a flawless finish whilst being lightweight.
Three eyeshadows I have fallen in love with this year are these three stunning shades.
Makeup Geek Grandstand – is a gorgeous foiled bronze shadow
Makeup Geek Jester – is such a unique green foiled shade I adore.
ColourPop Stay Golden – This shade is so pretty. A matte deep pinky red.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette | £43.00 | Link
Now we all know the mixed reviews this palette has had but for me it is incredible. The pigmentation is insane, the colours are 100% Autumn and Winter Shades. You can see swatches of all shades in my full review here.
Highlighters & Blushers
Topshop Afterglow Highlighter | £12.00 | Link
I have become obsessed with this highlighter. With having pale/fair skin I can never find a gold toned highlighter that works as most show up too dark on me. This one is perfect, it is a pale gold that has an intense glow. If you love a good intense glow this is for you! It also comes in other shades. If you want to see how this looks on then check out my full review here which includes face swatches.
This highlighter I didn’t expect to love as much as I do. It is a unique rose gold shade that looks stunning on. I don’t own another highlighter like this. It is rose gold but has specks of gold in it. It works perfectly on pale, fair or medium skin tones. It isn’t the most intense glow but it is definitely buildable. You can see face swatches in my full review here.
NYX “Mauve Me” Ombre Blusher | £9.00 | Link
One of my go to blushers. It is the perfect Winter blush. Again it works on pale, fair or medium skin tones. The shade can be a very sheer colour or built up. I love how it looks.
MAC “Harmony” Blusher | £19.50 | Link
This is one of my holy grail products. It can be used as a blush or as a contour shade. I use it both ways. If I use it as a blush I just use a light hand and it adds a little warmth to your skin. It isn’t too warm toned or too cool toned.
Lipsticks – Something For Everyone
Urban Decay “Backtalk” Comfort Matte Lipstick | £15.50 | Link
This is probably hands down my favourite lipstick formula. It is extremely creamy but dries matte but not your usually drying kind of matte. I find 90% of matte lipsticks drying but these aren’t. The best part is this formula lasts over 6 hours before re applying. I can eat and drink and it will still be there. This shade is a gorgeous mauve.
Dose of Colours Satin Lipstick “Toast” | £15.00 | Link
How stunning is the packaging of this lipstick! As soon as I saw these on Instagram I knew I wanted one and the shade Toast stood out to me. I love my nude shades as this is a warm toned nude. It has a brown undertone to it. The formula is creamy but long lasting.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick “Crush” | £20.00 | Link
One of my favourite liquid lipstick formulas. There aren’t many liquid lipstick formulas I like but this one is extremely comfortable to wear. This shade is a deeper muted pink. Perfect for this time of year.
NYX Matte Lipstick “Maison” | £7.00 | Link
A deep chocolate brown that steals my heart. I adore this shade. The formula is a matte and this lasts for hours! I don’t find it drying at all.
