MAC has to be one of my favourite brands. I have tried many products from primers to eyeshadows and fallen in love with every product. So when i saw MAC were teaming up with Disney and creating a Cinderella Range i was extremely excited. Not only am i a big lover of MAC i am also Disney obsessed! The morning of the launch i went online and decided to order two items from the range totaling £40.00. Twenty minutes after i had ordered them the entire range was out of stock! I was quite shocked at how quickly everything sold.
So why am i a little disappointed and doing my first ever MAC mixed review!
MAC Cinderella Iridescent Powder | £23.00
I decided on this pretty powder as i loved the pink and thought it would give a gorgeous colour to my cheeks. When i opened it i was in love, the shade looked gorgeous! I used my Mac 127 brush and i have also tried my Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply this pretty in pink powder known as “Coupe D’Chic”. I was very disappointed at how little pigmentation there is! Because of the lack of pigments i actually use this as a highlighter. It does work well as a highlighter but its a shame it doesn’t live up to the usual MAC standards.
MAC Cinderella Lipstick in “Royal Ball” | £17.00
With two lipstick shades to choose from, one being nude and one being pinkish. I decided to go with the light pale pink shade as i have too many nude lipsticks. Again when i opened the lipstick it was as shown on the website a pretty pale pink colour. When i applied the lipstick it wasn’t pink at all, it is a sheer lipstick with a hint of glitter/shine. I have since tried the lipstick on top of nude shades and other shades and it works well just to add that extra shine.
The Packaging
I do love the light lavender blue packaging, the shade is very Cinderella. I do think the gold does make it look a little cheap. I understand the writing being gold which i quite like but i dont like the chunks of gold on the lipstick and powder compacts.
Above i am wearing both the powder and lipstick. As you can see the powder works as a highlight and the lipstick is very pale. Please excuse the messy hair and lack of makeup as i mainly wanted to show of these products only.
I am quite sad to have been disappointed with this range as i was like a kid in a sweet shop! Have you tried anything from this range?
