Maybelline Gigi Hadid Lipsticks Review and Swatches | EmmyWritesAbout

I wasn’t going to do it, I kept telling myself I didn’t need them. Well it happened, I purchased two of the Gigi Hadid Maybelline Lipsticks. If I am being honest nothing else in the range interested me, I thought the palettes looked very immature but I am all about nude lipsticks so of course I had to right? Off in my basket they went and they soon arrived on my doorstep but were they worth it?

Firstly I love the packaging although doesn’t it seem since Kim K did her nude matte packaging everyone else is now jumping on it? Aside from that I love the holographic font then with the GH on top, I think it is a nice touch.

What Maybelline Claim:

A creamy matte lipstick. With highly-pigmented colour and sensuous precious oils.

The formula is very creamy when you first apply it, even though it is really creamy I don’t find I need a lip liner. The tip of the lipstick is shaped perfectly so it creates such a neat edge. Once applied it does dry down, i’d say a semi matte rather than a full matte as they aren’t drying at all.

Lasting power I find they last like normal lipsticks, which is fine by me. I don’t mind re applying a lipstick after I have eaten. I adore Maybelline lipsticks especially the Colour Sensational Lipsticks which are a cream finish. I have tried their matte ones but found them quite dry but the Gigi Hadid formula feels different, alot more creamier when you first apply it and alot let drying when it dries down. I am really impressed with the formula and I hope Maybelline release more like this in their other ranges.

The shades I have are:

McCall – A pale beige nude

Taura – A warmer toned brown

Mccall is such a pretty nude, your typical nude shade. It has the perfect undertone and will work for so many skin tones. I am quite pale and do find I need to apply either a slightly darker lip liner with it or a darker lipstick and apply this on top otherwise it can wash my out a little. If you are a darker skin tone than me it would be perfect!

Taura has to be my favourite of the two shades I picked up. It is a slightly deeper nude that works with so many makeup looks.

The lipsticks retail for £8.99 each or you can buy the lipstick and lip liner duo for £12.99. I like how they kept the prices the same as their usual lipsticks. I was quite shocked to see one of the palettes she released was nearly £30, especially when it is Maybelline which is drugstore. I know it is a collaboration but look at L’Oreal who have done the Balmain lipsticks which only retail for £12.99.

Did you buy anything from the Maybelline Gigi Hadid range?
