The Best of Beauty Products 2017 | EmmyWritesAbout

I know we all say this every year but I am sure each year flies by quicker! I can’t believe we are in 2018 already. It was really each to put together my favourite beauty finds of 2018 and actually most of them are drugstore! The drugstore released so many new products this year and I have fallen in love with so many of them. I did fall in love with quite alot of products during December which I haven’t included as I want to test them out for longer before confessing my love for them!

Kat Von D Lock It Powder Foundation | £27.00 | Link

I have now fully ran out of this and need to repurchase it. What I love about this is it can be used as an all over face powder on top of foundation, or as a foundation on it’s own or I also use it under my eyes. I find the powder is extremely lightweight and it makes your under eyes look flawless. With being pale I struggle to find a powder that actually brightens under my eyes but the shade Light 42 honestly brightens them so much!

Lottie London Selfie Ready Foundation | £6.95 | Link

This has to be my favourite product of 2017 so much so I am on my third bottle. This foundation is medium coverage and it is one of the best at keeping me shine free all day! It works really well on my combination skin. You can check out my full review here.

Maybelline Super Stay Foundation | £9.99 | Link

It seems all the youtubers are testing this lately, I have been using it around 6 months. I love this formula, it is lightweight and medium coverage. They have shades for extremely pale skin and I love the new bottle. It keeps me shine free and doesn’t cling to any dry patches.

Seventeen Miracle Matte Loose Powder | £5.99 | Link

I have re purchased this powder so many times in the past year. It makes my skin look flawless and keeps me matte all day long. It doesn’t look cakey and doesn’t look drying. I also love the pressed powder version they do.
Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick | £23.50 | Link

I have tried many contour sticks but there is nothing as creamy as this one! It melts into your skin unlike anything else. If I just want a natural bronze/contour I will use this then apply a powder bronzer on top to set it. If I want something more sharp and intense I use this, a powder bronzer then a powder contour. What I love most is nothing looks cakey or muddy if you layer it on top of this.

Milani Prime Shield | £12.00 | Link

This is such an underrated primer. It is similar to the Smashbox ones as it is a silicone based primer. It is oil free and doesn’t feel greasy on the skin. It blurs pores really well and smooths over any dry skin or breakouts.

Essence Camouflage Concealer | £2.50 | Link

I must be on my fifth tube of this! It is pale enough for my pale skin and it has good medium buildable coverage. It is very creamy and blends really well with a damp sponge.

Too Faced Candlelight Highlighter | £25.00 | Link

I have tried alot of highlighters throughout 2017 but this is my favourite of the year. The colour is a pale icey champagne and it can give such an intense glow. I just love how flawless this looks on my skin.

Too Faced Love Lights Highlighter “Ray Of Light” | £25.00 | Link

This is such a unique shade and I didn’t think it would suit my skin tone but it looks stunning. It is a pale rose gold with hints of gold in it. No swatch does this highlighter justice. If you haven’t already I recommend trying this shade out. It isn’t as an intense highlighter as the candlelight one but it does give a gorgeous glow.

Lottie London Blush “Drake” | £4.99 | Link

I have featured this on my blog quite a few times and you know it is clearly loved as the lid falls off when I open it! The shade is a perfect everyday muted pink shade that works with so many looks. These are definitely my favourite drugstore blushes.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer | $14.95 | Link

I am on my third one of these now. I have become addicted and will cry when I run out of this one. The formula is perfect and blends like a dream. The colour is perfection for paler skin tones and it smells INCREDIBLE!

Rimmel Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray | £6.99 | Link

100% my favourite setting spray of 2017 and possibly my favourite setting spray ever. It is lightweight, doesn’t irritate my skin or eyes and makes my makeup last all day. It does have a slight cucumber scent but I actually really like it.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Lashes Mascara | £8.99 | Link

This isn’t a new product to me but I have loved it all through 2017 as well as part of 2016. It gives me length as well as volume and it is waterproof. I do sometimes pair it with the original lash sensational for when I want that extra length but alot of volume.

Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil | £7.99 | Link

I am now onto my third one of this. It is such a good alternative for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz which is now £22!!! This pencil is super thin and makes it perfect for those details. I use this on the natural days as I usually opt for a strong brow.

Tarte Man-Eater Eyeshadow Palette (no longer sold but here is one similar for £22)

This is the first time I have tried Tarte eyeshadows and I am really impressed. All of them are extremely pigmented, I especially love the shimmery shades. I will be ordering a another Tarte palette soon I think!

I have also been loving single shadows especially Makeup Geek and Anastasia Beverly Hills (now available in the UK) ones. Both brands are affordable and both are very pigmented! I can’t wait to buy more.

Essence I Love Colour Intensifying Eyeshadow Base | £2.50 | Link

I have tried many eyeshadow primers and never been impressed until I tried this one. It is very pigmented and covers everything, shadows apply well on top and it keeps your eyeshadows staying pigmented all day!

Stila Liquid Lipstick “Perla” | £16.00 | Link

This shade and formula is everything! I find 90% of liquid lipsticks far too drying but this is perfect and super comfortable to wear. This shade was originally limited edition but it is now available in full size which I am going to buy now I’ve run out of this travel size one.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick “Honey Beige” | £6.99 | Link

These are by far my favourite cream lipsticks of the year. I have quite a few shades from the range and love them all. Especially for everyday wear as they are quick to apply and the colours are gorgeous!

It looks like they might have discontinued this shade but definitely check out the range as they have so many shades.

L’Oreal Infallible Matte Liquid Lipsticks | £6.99 | Link

They are advertised as matte but they are more cream/semi matte which I do prefer. The shade range is huge from a nude range to a more colour range, they also do a glossy version too. I love these and find them so easy to wear.

Milani Lip Oil | £10.00 | Link

I used to hate lip oils as I found them to messy but this one is amazing. It isn’t sticky or runny and it is great to apply when you are doing your makeup to prep your lips for your lipstick.
