ColourPop Lux Lipsticks Appy And Boy Review | EmmyWritesAbout

ColourPop recently launched another new product, the Lux Lipsticks which features twenty four shades of a creamy matte finish. I am a massive Colourpop fan but not been overly excited by some of their latest launches until now. The range is full of nudes, pinks, reds and a couple of brighter shades. Of course I chose two of the nude shades. When I ordered I didn’t have a clue what they looked like as there were no swatches online apart from the ColourPop ones which I don’t always find accurate.

The packaging is stunning. They come in a rose gold case which has mini stars all over it. The lipstick is embossed with the star print to match. I find this such a cute touch and makes the lipstick look alot higher end. When ColourPop produce packaging and detailing like this for $7 a lipstick, it does make you wonder why other drugstore brands have such cheap looking packaging.

The shades I picked are Appy and Boy. I loved how many lipsticks were released in the launch. Most brands only release a few shades but ColourPop always knock it out of the park and produce a shade for everyone.

Boy is a pale peachy nude. On me as I am pale this comes up very pale. I do have to apply a darker nude lip liner underneath. I did want this more so I can apply a gloss on top rather than wear it on it’s own. It looks amazing with a nude gloss or a shimmer gloss on top. My mum also has this lipstick and she is more medium skin toned and it looks lovely on her just on it’s own.

Appy is described as a warm pinky beige but on me it has more of a warm slightly orange undertone. I really love how this looks on my skin tone. It is more warm toned than most of the nude lipsticks I own.

The formula as always with Colourpop is perfect It applies creamy and extremely pigmented. You only need one swipe. It does dry down matte but not at all drying. I suffer with dry lips sometimes but this doesn’t make them feel dry at all. It is long lasting but when I do re apply it doesn’t build up or look heavy. I hate it when you can’t re apply a lipstick as it looks awful.

I am really impressed with this launch and for $7 each they have done an amazing job with the formula and the detail on the packaging.

Have you tried the ColourPop Lux Lipsticks yet?
