Spring makeup has to be my favourite! I love bringing out the slightly brighter shades and fresh bases. I recently went through my makeup and picked out my Spring Favourites and had to share them with you! Of course I have done swatches, I live for swatches! I have included a few of each type of product as I like to switch it up.
All About That Base… Foundations MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Foundation | £27.00 | Link I do own the original Pro Longwear Foundation and enjoy both but I really like the waterproof one. I find the shade range to be more accurate and match me well. It feels very lightweight and gives medium coverage. It lasts well on my oily/combination skin as long as I use a mattifying primer and powder. I like how fresh faced this makes me look. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation | £40.00 | Link I honestly didn’t think this would work for my skin type as I usually only wear matte products. If I use a mattifying primer and powder this foundation looks incredible! It is medium coverage but buildable, it has a luminous finish but not too glowy which I liked. It makes your skin look fresh and flawless. The shade range is also huge! Concealers Smashbox Studio Skin Waterproof Concealer | £20.00 | Link Now I know BeautyLymin will appreciate this as she knows I am a concealer and foundation junkie and she wanted to know how I got on with this concealer as we both love the Studio Skin Foundation. I am so happy they do pale enough shades for us really pale girls! I love a brightening concealer especially in Spring/Summer and this does just that. It gives incredible coverage too. I can find it can be slightly and I mean ever so slightly drying depending which powders I use it with. I find a pressed powder works best. Tarte Tape Shape Concealer | £19.00 | Link A product that is the most hyped product this year… it is worth it. I recently mentioned it in my fifth The Blogger Made Me Buy It BUT Is It Worth It post. It brightens my under eye whilst proving full coverage! Again I find fine pressed powders work best. I was lucky as I ordered this from the Tarte website when they had 25% off plus Free International Shipping on Boxing Day so it only cost me £14 which meant no customs! |
Bronzer
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer “Light” | $14.99 | Link
I picked this up whilst in New York, actually I picked up 3 plus one for Dena Jayne. It is just as good as everyone says. It smells incredible, chocolate and coconut! The shade is perfect on my pale skin. It is matte but doesn’t look flat or muddy which is amazing.
Makeup Revolution Baked Bronzer “Golden Days” | £4.00 | Link
I don’t do shimmery bronzers, I don’t want to look like a disco ball! Saying that this MUR one doesn’t have any glitter in it, it has more of a satin finish so only a slightly glow. I love applying this to give me a little holiday looking glow.
Blush
Milani Baked Blush “Dolce Pink” | £9.99 | Link
How pretty is this blush! Im all about pink blushers and this one stole my heart. It is a gorgeous pink and it does have shimmer. I own alot of blushers but only two with shimmer. I find when I wear this blush I don’t wear highlighter as it would look too much.
Highlighter
ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter “Smoke N Whistles” | $8.00 | Link
If I could only own one highlighter for the rest of my life this would be it! The pigmentation is insane. It applies to the skin beautifully and has that intense wet look. I apply these using my Real Techniques Setting Brush.
Urban Decay After Glow Highlighter “Aura” | £21.00 | Link
One of my favourite products from Urban Decay. This is a slightly holographic highlighter. It has a pink tone but shines different in different lights. I also have the shade Sin which is gold like the Balm Mary Lou but more intense!
Eyes
ColourPop Super Shock Shadows | $5.00
The shades Cheeky and Kathleen Lights are a must. Cheeky is a pink with a satin finish and Kathleen Lights is your typical intense gold. Both look stunning.
Colour Pressed Shadow | $5.00
I recently picked up three of these and the one shade I adore is Stay Golden which is a deep pinky red! I looks gorgeous all over the lid or applied just on the bottom lash line for a pop of colour.
Makeup Geek Shadows | £6-£9.25 | Link
My top three for spring are Tuscan Sun which is a pale pinky terracotta with a matte finish, Cosmopolitan a deep peachy shimmer and then Starry Eyed which is just insane! Starry Eyed is one of the foiled shadows which is pretty pale champagne shade.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow | £10.00 | Link
I picked up some of the single shadows whilst I was in NYC. The shade Gem is so pretty. It is a pale peachy gold, it is hard to describe but all over the lid it is stunning, it has a slight shimmer to it with flecks of gold in it.
Lips
Cream Lipstick | Urban Decay Vice Cream Lipstick | £15.50 | Link
The new Vice Lipsticks are my holy grails! I love them more than MAC Lipsticks are they last so much longer on the lips. I have four shades which I will be doing a post on soon but this shade is perfect for Spring. It is Native, a pale pink.
Liquid Lipstick | Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick “Crush” | $20.00 | Link
I love the formula! I hate drying liquid lipsticks but these ones are so comfortable to wear. The shade Crush is just so pretty. It is a peachy pale pink and would suit all skin tones.
Cream Glossy Lipstick | ColourPop Lippie Stix Glossy Finish “Bound” | $5.00 | Link
The ColourPop Lippie Stix are incredible, they have so many formula’s from matte, glossy, satin and more! I did a post on my whole Lippie Stix Collection Including Lip Swatches. Bound is one of my ultimate favourites. I don’t suit bright pinks but this one I adore! I think because it is glossy I can wear it but if it was matte it wouldn’t suit me. I can’t find this shade on the website anymore! Not happy..
