Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick Review and Swatch | EmmyWritesAbout

Contouring has become part of my daily makeup routine. Whether I go for a subtle look or I define my cheekbones until they won’t go anymore, I always make sure to contour in some way. I have recently become obsessed with cream contouring as it is so quick and easy and it blends into your makeup much more effortlessly. I adore the original Benefit Hoola Bronzer, the colour is perfect and it blends really well. When I saw Benefit had released a cream contour version I knew I needed it in my life.

I picked this up when I went shopping with TheDenaEdit, don’t forget to check out our Bloggers Day Out Collaboration! The packaging of the Hoola Contour Stick is gorgeous. It has a tropical vibe which gold packaging. When I was buying this the counter girl said how creamy it is, of course all counter girls will say whatever to make you buy the products but boy she wasn’t joking around. I still can’t quite believe how buttery this is! Even by my swatch below you can see exactly how buttery it is.

The shade isn’t too cool or too warm toned. I am quite pale and find alot of contour shades are far to cool toned for my skin tone. I apply this under my cheekbones, sides of my nose and on my forehead. It gives a gorgeous colour to my skin without being too much. Now as I said it is extremely buttery so it does blend away beautifully but it also blends away lighter than the swatch, only ever so slightly. I tend to do a second layer on my cheekbones. The good bit is that you can build it up as much as you want and it won’t go patchy, muddy or cakey.

On natural makeup days I love applying this on it’s own and applying a bronzer on top just to set it. I especially love pairing it with the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, they are the dream team. If I want a more defined contour I will apply a powder contour on top of it. When I build up powder products on top of the cream product it doesn’t look cakey at all and still looks flawless.

The Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick retails for £23.50 and you get 8.5g of product. I can see this lasting so long as you really only need a small amount, a little goes a long way!
