My Top 5 Foundations | EmmyWritesAbout

I recently decided i am going to do a series of “My Top 5” including blushers, primers, makeup brushes and more. I enjoy reading posts about other bloggers favourites and finding new products that work for me. I do struggle with oily skin but i will advise if the product would work for other skin types.

Seventeen Stay Time Foundation | £6.49

I have been using this since last summer and i have kept re-purchasing it and will keep using it for a long time to come. I have tried many full coverage foundations and found they are infact not full coverage at all. My skin is pretty clear and i only have the odd breakout now and again but i do generally just like the full coverage look. This foundation is the most full coverage i have found and surprisingly it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin. The bottle has a pump for easy application. It lasts all day even with my oily skin, it leaves a dewy finish but once i apply my powder it looks amazing.

Skin type: I think this would also work for dry skin or anyone who has bad breakouts.

Maxfactor Face Finity Foundation | £8.15

I bought this back in January after using the primer from the Face Finity Range. This foundation is medium coverage and feels very light on my skin. I do find i reach more for this foundation when my skin is clear as it does cling a little to any dry areas but it works well with my oily skin. Boots sell this for £12.00 but if you click the link above all beauty sell it for only £8.15.

Skin type: Oily skin, unsure if it would work well with dry skin.

Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation | £21.50

My boyfriend bought me this for Christmas and he actually got the right shade and everything! The downfall is it doesn’t come with a pump so i did pay an additional £3 for the pump. The coverage is medium but buildable. I have found i dont need to use alot of product as it does spread well. It states to absorb oil and lasts for 8 hours which i have found it does last longer if you apply powder during the day. If i want a fuller coverage i have recently been mixing this with my Revlon Colorstay Foundation which gives the perfect coverage.

Skin type: Oily Skin (it does cling to my dry patches but i have heard people with dry skin say it worked for them)

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation | £26.50

I also got a sample size of this in a set for Christmas. This is a light coverage foundation so i honestly didnt think i would like it at all. I was wrong, this foundation blends my blemishes and evens out my skin tone. Yes the coverage is light so i wouldn’t use this if i have a breakout. I first wore this on an all day shopping trip and it did last all day, i had a little bit of shine around my chin but i would of normally touched up with powder. I can see this being a favourite in the summer.

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation | £5.99

I dont usually like Collection products but i did pick this up a few months ago. The main reason i picked it up is that it is oil free and lasts for up to 16 hours. The foundation does feel a little thick but once i have buffed it into my skin it feels quite light. The shades i have read alot of people say they are a little dark/orange but for me once applied it doesn’t look orange and once i buff it in a little more it blends well.
