Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks Review and Swatches | EmmysBeautyCave

Is it possible to fall in love with a lipstick? I think I just have! As soon as I knew Urban Decay were releasing 100 new lipstick shades in different formulas I knew I had to get some. The Urban Decay Vice Lipstick includes six formulas Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer, Cream, Comfort Matte and Mega Matte. I spent ages googling swatches and shades trying to pick the ones I wanted. I finally narrowed it down to two shades…

New Packaging

Urban Decay have revamped the packaging and I have to say I love the new design. They are very sleek looking in the Silver casing with the gold bottom. I love that they have changed the shape of the lipstick to the “typical” lipstick style rather than the revolution lipsticks.

The Shades

The first shade I chose was Oblivion which is a Mega Matte finish. When I first applied this I was quite shocked that it didn’t feel drying considering it is from the mega matte formula. This is a very pigmented shade and only needs one swipe. This literally went fully matte within a minute, it dries down so when you touch it nothing comes off. The shade is a very grey toned nude with a hint of purple in it. In the image below of me wearing the shade it doesn’t show the grey tones for some reason but trust me in person it looks amazing. I applied this before I went out and had lunch and drinks. I forgot I was wearing it and didn’t look at it until 8 hours later… What the actual! It was still on after 8 hours!! I have never known a lipstick that isn’t a liquid lipstick last that long. The colour was still there and nothing had budged!

The second shade I picked seems to be a popular one as I have seen alot of talk about it on Instagram and Twitter and that is BackTalk. This is a nude mauve tone. When I swatched this on my hand it looked quite dark so I wasn’t sure it would suit me but when I applied it, it didn’t look as dark as the swatch on my hand. It looks absolutely stunning. This shade is a Comfort Matte but I find it lasts really well. The Mega Matte ones do last longer without having to reapply but the comfort matte ones feel really comfortable.

I am totally in love with both shades I picked and will definitely be buying more. For me these lipsticks are 100x better than MAC lipsticks! They last much longer than MAC lipsticks and I love how comfortable the matte ones are to wear. They retail at £15.00 the same as MAC but for me I would recommend the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks any day!
