Yes we all know Urban Decay have released a new palette but I thought I would finally share my thoughts. When this arrived on my doorstep I was so shocked and so happy. I have read alot of reviews on this and they have been very mixed. I have swatches of the palette and given my honest opinion whether it is worth it or not.
This is probably one of the most spoke about eyeshadow palettes this year. I own two other Urban Decay Palettes including the Alice In Wonderland Palette and the Ultimate Basics Palette. I have never been drawn to the Naked Palettes as the shades were like others I had. The packaging for the Naked Heat Palette stands out so much compared to the other Naked Palettes and I love it. It has so much detail and definitely has the high end feel.
The shades of course are all warm toned. Warm tones steal my heart, I don’t use cool toned shadows ever. It contains your two base shades and two transition shades. The first shade looks pretty as a brow bone highlight to. The palette contains 7 matte shadows and 5 shimmers.
As you can see the eyeshadows are very pigmented. I was impressed as there isn’t a major amount of fallout, the usually amount you get with any eyeshadows. When I have been testing them out of course I have my favourtie shades which are:
Sauced (3rd shade in from the left)
He Devil (6th shade in from the left)
Scorched (5th shade in from the right)
En Fuego (3rd shade in from the right)
The matte shades are incredible, they are pigmented and very easy to blend out. The shades of the shimmers are stunning especially Dirty Talk and Scorched. My only downfall is I wish they applied more pigmented on the eyes. The colour is there and looks pretty but it isn’t as intense as it could be.
To make the shimmers stand out even more I apply a cream shadow of a similar colour underneath and then apply them on top. This way it also makes sure the colour stays put all day.
I am really impressed with the palette and find it perfect for everyday use. You can create a subtle basic eye, smokey eye and more.
When reading other reviews in a few posts the same topic came up…
#1. There is no black – there isn’t which for some people is a big thing but for me personally I never use black shadow ever. I usually go for a dark brown or dark purple so the shade Ashes in this palette works for me.
#2. There is no gold – I get this as alot of people like a gold shadow and I get why people wish this palette had it but probably 90% of my other palettes all have a gold in or I have single gold shadows from ColourPop and Makeup Geek which are perfect so it isn’t a big deal for me not to have it in this palette.
The Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette retails for £39.50. If you are a warm toned lover then you will adore this palette like I do. Lucy from Lucy Loves also recently included this palette in her Top Warm Eye Shadow Palettes Post.. go check out which others she is loving!
