It is no secret how much I am addicted to buying new foundations but your base sets the rest of your makeup right? I have tried and tested many different brands with different price ranges and I have to admit I used to hate drugstore foundations but now there are two I more than adore as well as two high end ones. There is just something so satisfying about finding that perfect flawless base. You know one is definitely a winner when you own five of the same foundation!
The Drugstore Gems
Lottie London Selfie Ready Foundation | £6.95 | Link
I first tried this foundation early last year, I hadn’t heard much about it and not seen any reviews. To be honest I didn’t have high hopes but holy moly I was wrong! This is the foundation I own five of. It is my most used foundation and I tend to use it on an everyday basis. The shade is perfect on my skin tone as they have some with a pink undertone as well as a yellow one. It is a medium coverage but it just makes my skin look beyond flawless. Out of all of the foundations I own this one controls my oilyness the best. It also works well for when my skin is more on the combination side. I purchase mine online as most Superdrug stores don’t seem to stock it. They also sell a stick foundation which is sold in most stores.
Maybelline Super Stay Foundation | £9.99 | Link
I don’t know why this foundation has only recently gone viral. I have been using this since last Summer and can’t get enough of it. I especially love how pale the shades go in this one. It is a fuller coverage but can be medium if you apply less product. It does dry more matte so I wouldn’t recommend this for dry skin but for anyone with oily skin this one is for you! This one lasts as long as the Lottie London one of my skin when I use certain powders.
High End Must Haves
Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation | £35.00 | Link
If you saw my recent haul post you would have seen I finally picked this foundation up the week after Christmas. It had been on my wishlist for so long and it certainly hasn’t disappointed. It is full coverage and makes your skin look incredible. I rend to keep this one for weekends if I am doing something or going somewhere. I do love Laura Mercier foundations they just make your skin look airbrushed. The only let down is the shades do have a more yellow undertone to them, I do have to use lightening drops with this foundation to get it the right shade.
Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation | £29.50 | Link
I think I have had this foundation well over a year and it is one I will always love. It is slightly thicker than the others but it doesn’t look cakey. It reminds me of MAC Studio Fix but without the horrid scent! It is full coverage with a semi matte finish. I have seen people with oily skin and dry skin all love it. I love how this works for so many skin types.
