NARS Velvet Lip Glide Stripped Review | EmmyWritesAbout

You know that feeling when you have wanted a product for months and each time you have gone to order it, it has been out of stock? Yeah that was me thanks to Courtney. Ever since she raved about it, I knew I needed it. The NARS Velvet Lip Glides have been a product on my wishlist for quite sometime. NARS is a brand I haven only tried foundations and concealers from but this year I really want to try more from them. I am completely over the matte lip trend.

What NARS Say:

Covetable comfort meets confident color in a high-pigment formula that glides like a gloss, cloaks like a lipstick—and feels like nothing else. Semi-matte color glides on a stays supple without drying or feeling sticky.

The Velvet Lip Glides come in 17 shades from from nudes, pinks, mauves, reds and more. The packaging is sleek and simple as always with NARS but the wand itself is perfect. If you have tried the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer it is the same style wand. It has two flat sides which make the product easy to apply. There is enough product on each side so you don’t need to keep dipping back into the tube.

Of course I had to pick the nude shade, Stripped is a perfect light nude that looks stunning on it’s own or on top of a lipstick. The formula is something else, I can honestly say you will have never tried anything like this. It is a very lightweight mousse but a thinner consistency. It applies beautifully and has the most amazing pigment.

It isn’t a typical gloss as there is no stickyness at all, if you press your lips together they don’t stick together at all like you get with most glosses. It is literally the smoothest lip product I have ever tried. NARS have done an incredible job with this product and I am definitely going to be ordering more, especially the shade bound which is a lovely mauve.

It isn’t the most long wearing product but no gloss is. I am happy to re apply a product like this especially when I am obsessed with it. I do find they last longer it you apply them on top of a lip liner or matte lipstick.

I 100% agree with NARS when they say a high-pigment formula that glides like a gloss, cloaks like a lipstick—and feels like nothing else. The Velvet Lip Glides retail for £23.00 which you can buy from the NARS website directly or lots of other places online. I bought mine in Harrods when we were in London and it was the last one they had in stock! I was so happy.
