The Blogger Made Me Buy It No 6 | EmmyWritesAbout

The blogger made me buy it is back! This is my sixth post, my first one was originally done December 2015! I will leave a link at the end of the post with all of the posts where they include products like Tarte Tape Shape, NARS, Charlotte Tilbury and more. I often look at my makeup collection and think oh so and so made me buy this or seeing a product and thinking why did I buy you. I have rounded up my latest products that I have been influenced to buy BUT are they a hit or miss…

The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer | £3.90 | Link

This is a product I have had in my collection since around October time but I just never used it. Back in the beginning of December I decided to dig it out and give it a try. Now it is the end of January and it is empty! This primer feels more like a thick moisturiser rather than silicone. It melts into your skin perfectly and leaves a very slight tacky base. I find it also has a cooling feeling which is perfect for first thing in the morning when I am half asleep. It blurs pores and makes my skin feel incredible. If you have just oily skin this isn’t perfect at mattifying. As my skin is combination I apply a mattifying primer just on my nose and chin then I apply this one all over my face. It works so well with other primers.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation | £35.00 | Link

This foundation was on my wishlist for so long after seeing a couple of YouTubers review it. Laura Mercier is a brand that you don’t hear about often but their base products are perfection. This is a full coverage foundation that makes my skin look beyond flawless. It doesn’t feel heavy nor does it look cakey. It works so well on my combination skin, I was worried it wouldn’t work too well on my oily areas but it keeps me matte as long as I use a mattifying powder. The only thing that lets it down is the shade range, even though there are 19 shades the paler shades aren’t the best.

Luckily the woman in Harvey Nichols was super helpful and showing me different shades so I would 100% recommend asking them for help. I usually I find the woman working on the counters very intimidating and not helpful but this woman was so lovely.

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder | £29.00 | Link

Yes another Laura Mercier product! I am very late to the party with trying this powder but I finally have it and love it. I have been using this all month as I got it just after Christmas. It makes your makeup look flawless and airbrushed. I have tried baking with it and as normal and find it works well both ways. Although I have found if you apply too much it can look heavy/cakey.

Tarte Pro Glow To Go Palette | £23.00 | Link

It was Courtney from Lashes And Luxe who raved about this so much I finally caved and got it in a Sephora Order. The palette is small but the pans are the perfect size. It comes with a mirror which makes it perfect to travel with. You get two highlighters and a contour shade. The highlighters are stunning. You get a champagne shade and a pale gold. Both work well on my pale skin. The contour shade I have to use lightly as it is very pigmented, I sometimes use it as a bronzer as it is slightly more warm toned.

NARS Velvet Lip Glide “Stripped” | £23.00 | Link

This was a product on my wishlist for so long and again it was Courtney who made me want it! She has so many high end recommendations on her blog. This is unlike any product I have tried, the formula is lovely. I recently did a full review here where you can read about the formula more.

Maybelline Gigi Hadid Lipstick Taura (Limited Edition)

This range is something I wasn’t impressed by. I thought the palettes looked cheap and were expensive for a drugstore brand. There was no excuse for the prices as L’Oreal did a lipstick collaboration with Balmain yet the lipsticks were only £12. The Maybelline palettes are £30!! That being said Kasie from Kasie Beauty did make me buy two of the lipsticks after I saw her swatches. Out of the two shades Taura is my favourite. It is a warm toned nude that dries matte but not drying.

L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss “Disco Ball” | £6.99 | Link

I put on my Instagram stories I wanted a gloss that was clear with specks of gold in it, something I could use as a lip topper but a drugstore product. Alex from Alex England messaged me about this and I am now obsessed and can’t thank her enough. Even the swatch below does not do this gloss justice, if you apply it on top of a nude lipstick this looks stunning as the light hits it.

Lush Tea Tree Toner Water | £9.50 | Link

I saw quite a few bloggers talking about this and I thought I would give it a go. I mainly use this when I am breaking out. I tend to get hormonal breakouts around my chin. When I use this spray it helps to reduce the redness and my breakouts go away quickly. I am really enjoying this product.

This is my first The Blogger Made Me Buy It Post where I am so happy with every product and would happily recommend them. In all my other posts some very hyped products were a big no from me! You can go and see my other five The Blogger Made Me Buy It Posts Here.
