Sephora Mud Mask Purifying And Mattifying Review | EmmyWritesAbout

I am all about face masks and use one at least once a week if not twice. I try different ones depending what is going on with my skin at the time. I have a stash of face masks but I ordered the Sephora Mud Mask Purifying and Mattifying after wanting it for so long. I had seen some reviews saying it is a dupe for the Glamglow Supermud Mask. I did get a travel size of the glamglow mask and I was extremely impressed but £42 is rather expensive. So when I saw this cheaper alternative I was intrigued.

I suffer with large pores around my nose ad slightly on my cheeks and chin. My T zone is oily and the rest of my face is normal. I do have slight texture on my skin around mouth and sides of my face. You get a choice of either 60ml for £15 or 30ml for £8. I ordered the 60ml along with some other products from Sephora.

The mask is a deep grey colour and has small little bits in as you can see below. The mud mask applies easily, I apply it all over my face and you only need a small amount. As the mask starts to dry it turns into a light grey. I usually leave it on for 20-30 minutes. After 5-10 minutes you feel the mask really tighten. I try not to move my mouth or have an expression as I don’t want to crack the mask. Once the mask is fully light grey all over it is fully set/dry.

One thing that impresses me and reminds me of the Glamglow mask is that it really does sink into your pores. I have alot of masks that slightly go into your pores but this goes deep into them which really cleans them out well. The mask is super easy to remove, once you wet it, it goes back to the original formula and wipes off.

The first time I used this my skin wasn’t in great condition, it was breaking out, red, blemishes and really textured which my skin has never been textured ever until the last few months. As soon as I removed this mask I was beyond impressed. The redness had almost disappeared, my skin didn’t look as angry but the main thing was the texture. The texture felt so much better.

I have been using this mask once a week and I am extremely happy with the results. I definitely think it is a great Glamglow alternative and at such a cheaper price. I will definitely be repurchasing it when I run out. I got mine directly from the Sephora Website Here. I have ordered from Sephora a couple of times now. They ship directly to the UK, shipping is £6 if your order is £75 or more and then they add the customs/taxes on when you pay so you don’t get a shock when it arrives.
