When I say a product is a holy grail of mine I really mean it. It isn’t often I find cult products I couldn’t live without and this year I have found some right gems! I own alot of products especially foundations, I must own around 30 and I love most of them but to call them a holy grail is a big thing. Going through my collection trying to narrow it down to my holy grail products was quite hard but I did it, I narrowed it down to eleven products!
Primers & Setting
Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer | £6.99 | Link
My holy grail used to be the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer which they have discontinued! Someone recommended me this one and it is very similar to the Stay Matte but it isn’t as thick. It is a white liquid primer that blends in well and helps keep me matte.
Benefit Porefessional Matte Rescue Gel Primer | £21.50 | Link
This is beyond amazing! It is a lightweight gel primer. After moisturising I apply this only to my nose and chin then I apply another primer on top and all over my face (i.e the Rimmel one above). Doing this makes my makeup last ALL DAY!
Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray | £14.50 | Link
I have tried many setting sprays including Urban Decay, MAC, L’Oreal and more but nothing compares to this one. I am on my second bottle now. It comes in 7 different scents, the one above is Peach. I spritz this all over my face before makeup and after and no matter what makeup I wear it makes it look flawless and last all day. My favourite shades are Peach & Cucumber, although I really want to try the Grapefruit one next!
Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Eye Concealer | £5.99 | Link (DUPE ALERT)
I don’t even know how many times I have repurchased this concealer. It is incredible. Any one with dark under eyes needs this. It is a perfect alternative to the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, I always reach for this over my MAC one. Whilst I was in NYC I picked up the lightest shade as only 3 shades are available in the UK.
Maybelline Better Skin Concealer | $8.99 | Link
This is the US version, I have tried the UK version and it doesn’t work as good. This concealer reminds me so much of my trusty Urban Decay concealer. It is creamy, good coverage and brightens the under eye.
Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation | £29.00 | Link
This has to be the most underrated product ever! It is a full coverage, oil free foundation. With having mainly oily skin but sometimes it can be combination this is the only foundation that keeps me matte literally over 10 hours. I don’t have to blot or touch up with powder when I wear this, it is a miracle product.
It comes in a whopping 22 shades!
L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation (US Version) | $12.99 | Link
We all know how much I detest, yes detest the UK Version of this. It doesn’t apply or last anything like the US version. The US one applies flawlessly on my skin providing medium – full coverage without being heavy or cakey. It stays flawless all day. I did stock up whilst in NYC but I usually order it off Ebay or Amazon.
MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation | £22.00 | Link
This has to be my ultimate holy grail powder, I have been re purchasing this for the past 6-7 years it is that good! I use this as powder on top of foundation as it is extremely lightweight. It is a pressed powder that makes your skin look airbrushed!! I am someone who wears full coverage foundation but I can even apply this on it’s own as it provides such incredible coverage. It is a multi use product that is totally worth it.
ColourPop Highlighters | $8.00 | Link
I have the shade Smoke N Whistles and oh my it is my favourite highlighter formula by far. It knocks by ABH Kit and Becca ones out of the park. I use my Real Techniques Setting Brush to apply this. It looks super intense and has that wet highlight look to it even though it isn’t a liquid. I need more shades.
Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector | £21.00 | Link
Have dark under eye circles? Not anymore with this bad boy! I apply this under my eyes and then apply concealer on top and the difference is insane.
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer | $14.99 | Link
I managed to get one of these in the UK a few months ago and I haven’t used any other bronzer since. I did pick up a few more backups whilst in NYC last month. This is the perfect bronzer for us paler girls. It smells divine, even better than the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil one!
