Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches | EmmyWritesAbout

Seeing all the brands showing sneak peaks of their Christmas edition products and sets is exciting but I have to admit I don’t tend to buy many of them. Alot of the products are the same every year but for me to buy it, it really needs to stand out. As soon as I saw the picture on Trendmood of the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Palette I knew I wanted it even before I saw swatches. Too Faced has become my favourite high end brand by far. My collection is growing fast and I was happy to add this gem to my collection.

The Gingerbread Spice Palette comes in the usual Too Faced style packaging, a tin with a cute design on the top. The palette consists of  eighteen shades with a mixture of finishes and shades. I love how this palette has some neutrals perfect for everyday and then has the odd brighter shade to brighten up a look and add some fun into it. The names are adorable too! Even though this palette is a Christmas release I think it will be perfect all year round. The shades include:

Powdered Sugar
Matte Cream – This a pale shade, it barely shows against my skin as it is the same colour!

Spiked Eggnog
A Pale Champagne Shimmer – This has a slight duo chrome finish as it shows up gold and then a champagne with a hint of pink.

Gumdrop
Matte hot pink – I have never used a shadow this colour before but it is my aim to give it a go!

Gingerbread
Matte Warm Brown – This does have a very warm tone to it and I love how this can be worn alone all over the lid or to warm up against other shades.

Warm and Toasty
Warm Toned Orange Gold  with a foiled finish – I definitely think this is more of a foiled shadow than a shimmer. It is so intense. This swatch is without it being wet!

Ooo Burn
Plum with a foiled finish – I don’t tend to wear purples that much as they can be to cool toned for me but I think this would work really well on my lid along with warm toned shades as crease shades.
Frostbite Me
Pearl with a foiled duo chrome finish – This shade has to be one of my favourites in the palette. It has a chunky finish compared to the others. It is a pearl with a hint of gold in certain lights.

Lookie At My Cookie
Matte pink – I have been using more pale pink eyeshadows this year and really enjoying it.

Spice is Nice
Matte orange – This shade can be used so many ways. On it’s own, as a crease shade to deepen it up or on the bottom lash line.

Oh Snap
Rose matte pink with flecks of shimmer – This reminds of one of my all time favourite single shadows Anastasia Beverly Hills Party Dress which is a nude brown with flecks of shimmer but this is a pink version.

Bake It Til You Make It
Deep red/brown foiled finish – This shade definitely calls Christmas. It is stunning!

Spice of Life
Foiled gold – This is more your darker typical gold whereas Warm and Toasty is more vibrant and orange toned.

Sugar Daddy

Very pale matte pink – This is more barbie pink than Powdered Sugar.

Figgy Pudding

Matte plum purple – This shade is so pretty. I feel I could definitely wear it on it’s own or used it with OOO Burn.

Hot Toddy

Foiled Cranberry – I am loving this shade! It looks gorgeous all over the lid paired with warm mattes in the crease.

Reindeer Paws

Matte deep brown/purple – A good outer corner crease shade.

Gingerbread Latte

A paler matte warm tone – This calls my name. It is the perfect warm toned matte.

Spiced Rum

Brown Shimmer – I find this is inbetween a shimmer and a foiled shade.

The mattes are all pigmented and blend easily, the shimmers are perfect and then the foiled shades are just beyond perfect. The foiled shades honestly make this palette next level. They are intensely pigmented and apply well. I either apply them with my finger or a flat brush. The only shade I think could pack more of a punch is Reindeer Paws, it isn’t as pigmented as all of the other shades but it still works well just takes a little more building.

I have the original Chocolate Bar Palette and the Sweet Peach Palette but the Gingerbread Spice Palette beats them both massively. Too Faced have really upped their game with the palette and the quality of the shadows is the best I have tried from them. I honestly cannot recommend this palette enough. It is available of the Debenhams website for £39.00.
