Most Used Beauty Products So Far in 2016 | EmmyWritesAbout

I can’t believe there are only four months left in 2016! In a way I am glad as I go to New York in November so I kind of want that to hurry up… im ready to go! I do think 2016 has been one of the best for beauty, I have definitely found some holy grail products this year. I found it so hard to narrow it down and pick the best so it is a rather large bunch with plenty of swatches!

Foundations

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation | $7.99 | Link

This foundation is now available in the UK but I don’t like the UK version at all! The UK version comes in plastic tube and the consistency differs. The US version is amazing for us oily girls. It looks flawless and stays matte for over 8 hours!

Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation | £29.00 | Link

This is my latest find which I have been using for a few months and it is the best foundation I have ever used. I own around 30 foundations but keep coming back to this one. It is a full coverage foundation but can be medium if you use a Beauty Blender instead of a brush. It lasts all day on my skin keeping me matte and it blurs my pores.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation | $12.99 | Link

Again this is the US version, I hated the UK version. The UK one didn’t keep me matte and looked horrendous. The US one looks flawless! My skin looks amazing with this, it is medium coverage but buildable. It lasts very well on oily skin. I get mine off Amazon or Ebay but will be stocking up when I go to New York.

Powders & Highlighters

Soap and Glory Solar Powder | £11.00 | Link

I used this last Summer then forgot about it. I picked it up again quite a few months ago and fell back in love with it. It is the perfect bronzer for us pale girls.

Seventeen Miracle Matte Powder | £3.99 | Link

This comes as a loose powder or pressed, I own both and love them. They both work well at keeping you matte without making your makeup look cakey or give it that “powder” look.

The Balm Mary Lou Highlighter | £16.00 | Link

I recently got this after bloggers rave about it and I have to admit I get why they rave about it. If you don’t own a highlighter this one is perfect but I do own alot of highlighters and even though I love this one I tend to forget about it. I need to use it more.

ColourPop Smoke N Whistles Highlighter | $8 | Link

Oh my oh my oh my… HEART EYES! This highlighter is insane, it is one of the most pigmented highlighters I have used. It gives the most gorgeous highlight and has that “wet” look, if you follow me on Twitter you may have seen the picture I posted of me wearing it.

More Base Products

Seventeen Skin Wow Concealer | £3.99 | Link

One of the best beauty releases this year! I own three different Seventeen concealers, they are very underrated. I mainly use this concealer to highlight with it. The fair shade is yellow toned and the medium shade is pink toned, I own both and prefer the medium shade.

Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray | £12.50 | Link

The name is perfect on it’s own but the actual product is just as good. This spray comes in five different scents which makes it unique to any other setting spray. It keeps my makeup in place and keeps me matte but it isn’t drying at all.

Kiss Light Reflecting Mattifying Primer | £3.00 | Link

I think this is my favourite product EVER. I got this primer on a whim from Wilkinson’s, I never expected it to be the best primer I have ever used. This primer is the only primer that keeps me matte all day. It makes my skin feel silky and blurs pores perfectly.

Eyes

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector | £22.00 | Link

This along with the Kiss Primer are my two favourite finds, both are miracle products. If you suffer with dark under eye circles you NEED this corrector. It is a pink toned corrector which helps to reduce dark under eyes, you do have to apply a concealer on top. When I read reviews so many people said it was useless but they all said they used it on it’s own! The product description tells you it requires concealer on top… Why can’t people read?!

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara | £25.00 | Link

I won this in a giveaway a while ago, I was so excited as I hadn’t tried any CT products. This mascara is one of the best I have ever used. It adds length and volume to my short lashes. It is super black and just looks incredible.

Freedom Pro Brow Pomade | £5.00 | Link

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade DUPE, RIGHT HERE! This little pot is a dream. I used to own the ABH one and I much prefer this one, it is easier to work with, extremely pigmented and stays put all day.

Makeup Geek Eye Shadows | £5.50 | Link

I filled my Large Z Palette a few months ago and I use it pretty much everyday. They are very pigmented, buttery shadows. Complete bargains! They are much better than MAC Shadows, I never touch my MAC shadows anymore.

Lips

Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks | £15.00 | Link

Urban Decay released 100 shades of lipsticks… yes 100! I got two, one from the comfort matte range and one from the mega matte range. I wore the mega matte shade Oblivion and it isn’t too drying and it lasted 8 hours! I have never known a normal lipstick last that long. I have BackTalk from the comfort matte range which doesn’t last as long but it is still gorgeous.

Too Faced Melted Chocolate Lipsticks | £19.00 | Link

I was literally checking online everyday until these were released at Debenhams. I have the lightest shade Chocolate Milkshake which is just stunning. They are a semi matte finish and smell unbelievable!

ColourPop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks | $6.00 | Link

I LOVE these. They feels amazing on the lips. I also have the Ultra Matte, Ultra Metallic and Ultra Glossy ones… I may be addicted. I have just included some of them in a giveaway so be sure to enter! The Ultra Satin ones are super comfortable to wear as they aren’t matte.
