Do you want your skin to look radiant this summer? Everyone longs for beautiful, healthy skin, but not all of us put those extra five minutes in to properly take care of our skin.
We have put together 6 essential tips, all part of a routine that will not take longer than 10 minutes per day.
Here are our 6 tips and here is how to start working towards that healthy and radiant skin you’ve always wanted:
1. Protect your skin from sunlight
Did you know that 90 per cent of wrinkles are caused by sun exposure? You need to apply sunscreen, even on cloudy days or winter.
It is recommended to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects your skin from both UVA (which causes premature ageing) and UVB (the one of which causes skin cancer) with an SPF of 30 or higher.
2. Use a Toner
It is recommended to use a toner because it will remove the excess oil and dirt from your skin that the soap missed and will close your pores. You can use a toner right after cleansing the skin to restore your skin’s PH balance.
Always look for a healthy toner. A nourishing toner will feature skin-repairing substances like antioxidants, fatty acids, ceramides and glycerine, which are great for your skin. You will get fresher, smoother and more radiant skin.
3. Wash your face before you go to bed
Makeup is the best way to look even prettier, but it sometimes contains harsh chemicals, harms the skin, attracts dirt and clogs the skin pores.
Plus, if you don’t get rid of makeup before you sleep, that promotes the growth of yeast on your skin. What’s more, it can cause excessive dryness and even skin dandruff. Don’t forget to thoroughly remove your eye makeup.
4. ABM (Always be moisturising)
Even at night. Applying your moisturiser at night will help your skin repair itself and stave off wrinkles.
Did you know that even though creams and lotions have ingredients that create a protective barrier on the skin’s surface, the skin cools itself by evaporating water? Therefore, you should not wait before the hydration is gone forever. It is proven that your face locks in moisture for up to 24 hours.
5. Keep your hands off your face
For glowing skin, you need to take care of your pimples. To prevent pimples, you need to keep your hands off your face. Stop resting your chin in your palm or fussing with your face. The oils on your hands may cause breakouts.
Oh, and take a rest. Stress is one of the biggest enemies of healthy, radiant skin. Plus, it is recommended to change out your pillowcase every four or five days.
6. Exfoliate
Try to exfoliate weekly. It will clear out dead skin cells and give the new ones more room to breathe. Even more, not cleaning up your dead skin cells can result in excess oil and may clog your pores, leading to blemishes and even acne.
